Deepa joined Lowe Lintas out of sheer curiosity about the advertising profession and has now spent over 21 years here. She began her career at Lowe Lintas Mumbai, in a unit called Special Projects, and gradually moved on to work for different units and brands across multiple cities at the agency. She headed the Creative function for Chennai and Bangalore for a long spell, before returning to Mumbai in 2010. Over the years, Deepa has led the creative march on a number of brands like Saint Gobain, Tanishq, Britannia, TI Cycles, Berger Paints, MRF and Unilever. In her current role, she authors key HUL initiatives across all categories, and is also the Global Creative Director on one of Unilever’s biggest global brands – Fair and Lovely.
Deepa has won numerous creative and effectiveness awards at Cannes, Effies and was also awarded the “South Asia Creative of the Year in 2014” title by Campaign India. Her creative philosophy is rooted in the simple principle of “First be clear, then be clever” – an approach that has guided her in navigating complex briefs and business problems with ease and creative flair.
If not at work, you are likely to find her at her home in Coonoor, winding down with a cup of tea and Nilgiri bisons for company.
